Asteroids are the fine print, the details. With over 25,000 named asteroids we can get down to specifics in the chart with amazing accuracy. The asteroids can point to archetypal themes running through the chart or can get as specific as names and locations. It is my work with the asteroids that has led me to question what exactly is free will?
Demetra George had done fascinating work in this area. I recommend checking out some of her talks regarding asteroids on YouTube. One example from her research is in the chart of Prince Charles. He has the asteroids Camilla & Parks conjunct his natal Venus.
Another example from Demetra’s work is the chart of John Bobbitt. If you remember the infamous incident where his wife Lorena cut off his penis with a knife. He had a T-square in his chart between Venus, Mars & Saturn. Conjunct Venus was the asteroid Lorraine (Lorena), conjunct Mars was the asteroid Johann (John) and conjunct Saturn was the asteroid Pecker. Saturn (Cronus) castrated his father Uranus.
As an example from my own life. I was able to find my ex-husband in my chart. According to Valens (ancient astrologer) anything conjunct the moon was one significator of legal marriage. I have the asteroid Chuck Yeager (famous American test pilot) conjunct my moon as well as the asteroid Romania. My ex was a pilot and we initiated our relationship in Romania. Something he used to say on a regular basis was “he was no Chuck Yeager”. I even had a Romanian Leu on the back of our framed wedding photo.
Mind you I discovered all of this after we were already divorced.
I also found the name of my first husband conjunct my natal Venus. Yes, as it turns out I am poorly aspected for marriage! Information that would have been helpful to have a long time ago. See the importance of knowing your chart?
It’s these discoveries that give me goose bumps and really make me question the nature of reality. What is fate? What is free will? What is this realm we find ourselves in? More to come on this…
